GOALS FOR WEEK 11

  1. Analyze songs by country and western artists.
  2. Discuss features of country music and how it differs from other American pop.
  3. Continue to understand how country music reflects the realities of rural America.
  4. Discuss how rap music reflects the realities of African-Americans and urban America.
  5. Analyze songs by Carrie Underwood and Lee Brice.

-Discuss
"Smoke Break" by Carrie Underwood, "Drinking Class" by Lee Brice, and "Tuxedo" by Claire Dunn.

HOMEWORK
For Thursday:
-Analyze "Tuexdo" using the Song Analysis Form.
-
Study country song vocabulary for the quiz on Thursday.

-Rap overview

-Discuss final project

HOMEWORK
For Tuesday:

-Watch the History of Rap video.
-Pick a rap song to analyze and complete the Song Analysis Form. Bring the completed form on Tuesday.
-Decide on your final presentation song and email the artist and title to me by April 13.
