By the end of this week, you will:

1. Learn about the 3 types of sentences and 3 types of sentence structure problems.
2. Discuss effective summary-writing, including the rudiments of APA citation.
3. Practice distinguishing between fact and opinion.
4. Begin a process essay.
5. Learn academic vocabulary through our novel and textbooks.

MONDAY
-Labor Day holiday--NO classes

HOMEWORK
-Work on Journal 2 for Friday (pick an article from Upfront and write a  summary/response to it).
-Begin reading 451 introduction plus pp. 1-21 and complete Homework 1 for Monday, 9/9
-Start Reading Explorer Chapter 1 online homework

TUESDAY
