GOALS FOR WEEK 3
By the end of this week, you will:

1. Finish reviewing the 3 types of sentences and 3 types of sentence structure problems.
2. Understand the role of conclusions in essay writing.
   
3. Complete a classification essay.
   
4. Learn how to form the present perfect and present perfect progressive and how to use them.
5. Learn academic vocabulary through our novel, textbooks, and online homework.

MONDAY
Materials:

-Warm-up 
-Distribute The Giver homework 1
-Review tenses in English and introduce present perfect and present perfect progressive (GAB Unit 3)
-Conclusions (Great Writing)
-Classification essay work time

HOMEWORK
-Bring PRINTED first draft of classification essay to class tomorrow
-Work on Journal 3 for Friday (Open topic--use at least 1 each of present perfect and present perfect progressive sentences in your work to get full credit).
-GAB Online Workbook Unit 3 on present perfect and present perfect progressive due Friday.
-Read the introduction to The Giver and work on the Pre-Reading Assignment (due Friday, 2/7)
