GOALS FOR WEEK OF JUNE 26
By the end of this week, you will:
1. Understand what rhetorical reading is and practice using it.
2. Practice annotating articles and discuss why it is useful.
3. Understand the nature of class participation in university settings.
4. Have our first formal class discussion.
MONDAY
-Warm-up: Bonny's homework
-Review homework and discuss persuasion and rhetorical reading
-Discuss annotating readings for college.


HOMEWORK
-Read Module 3, Unit 1 pp. 60-62 and do ex. 1,1, 1.2, 2.1, and 2.3.
-Prepare for first class discussion on Wednesday (Lucia and Ade leaders)



TUESDAY
-Warm-up
-Discuss how to participate in class discussions in a university setting
(Module 3)

HOMEWORK
-Prepare for first class discussion on Wednesday (Lucia and Ade leaders)


WEDNESDAY
-Warm-up
-Hold first class discussion!


HOMEWORK
-Read and annotate the journal article on mental health and prepare for an informal discussion of the article tomorrow.

THURSDAY
-Warm-up
-Debrief class discussion
-Discuss article

-Study for quiz on critical thinking and rhetorical reading tomorrow.


FRIDAY
-Warm-up
-Quiz on critical thinking and rhetorical reading.


HOMEWORK
-Carefully read the article on sugary sodas and prepare for our second class discussion on Wednesday! Feel free to do other outside, additional research and develop questions you want to bring up!
