By the end of this week, you will:

1. Continue to practice forming and using the passive voice in several different verb tenses.
2. Finish work on a process essay.
   
3. Practice scanning and skimming for main ideas.
   
4. Learn academic vocabulary through our novel, textbooks, and online homework.

MONDAY
Materials:

-Warm-up

-Book Club

HOMEWORK
-Work on Journal 5 for Friday (Open topic--use at least 2 passive sentences  in your work to get full credit).
-GAB Online Workbook Unit 19 and Unit 20 on the passive due Friday, 2/21 by class time.
-Read Chapters 6-7 (pp. 51-73) of The Giver and complete Homework 3 for Monday, as well as your book club job.

TUESDAY

-Warm-up
-Distribute The Giver homework 3 and book club jobs
-GAB: Unit 19
​-Return classification essays
-Read process essay
-Process essay work time

HOMEWORK
-Finish and print first draft of process essay for class tomorrow.
-Work on Journal 5 for Friday (Open topic--use at least 2 passive sentences  in your work to get full credit).
